Comfortable Shoes

Everyone has at least one pair of shoes that are comfortable.  Yes, those are the shoes that you wish all of your shoes would fit like. Yes, those are the shoes that you wish you can wear with your black sleek dress, your Calvin Klein suit, and with your fitted jeans. Unfortunately, with the many shapes and styles of shoes, that is unlikely to happen. However, there are some things that you can do to try to avoid shoe discomfort.

  • Purchase shoes one side bigger
  • If you have wide feet, purchase wide width shoes
  • If you have narrow feet, purchase narrow shoes
  • Before purchasing shoes, search the internet to see if other consumers have posted their review about the shoes.
  • Take your shoes to the shoemaker to get them stretch, I know I do! (smile)
  • Walk in them with sweat socks to stretch them
  • Try them on in the store and if they hurt after a few minutes or are hard to put on, DON’T purchase them
  • Purchase Dr. Scholl’s’ inserts

I love shoes; however, by implementing some of the above tips, some shoes remain in the store to alleviate the discomfort.  I like comfortable shoes because for some reason, when my feet hurt, it is hard to concentrate. When my feet hurt, I tend to feel my heart beating in my feet (LOL).  So continue to be kind to those comfortable shoes and to your feet. (smile)

I hope these tips guide you in purchasing more comfortable shoes.

Do you have a tip to share? If so, go ahead and comment. Your tip can surely help someone in need.

Take care,

Who Am I? (a tee to show off who you are)

‘Who Am I’ is an enormous question to ask yourself?

For some people:

The answer will come with little hesitation.
The answer may not come as quickly as one would hope.
The answer may not come at all.

You can answer this question (Who Am I) in many ways such as:

Your personality: one meaning of personality states: the essential character of a person.
  • Are you spontaneous?
  • Can you work with different personalities?

Your passion: a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything: a passion for music.
  • Do you have a passion for something?
  • Do you support a cause?

Your likes: to feel attraction toward or take pleasure in
  • Do you like a certain type of car?
  • Do you like a certain type of food?

Your dislikes: have or feel a dislike or distaste for
  • Do you dislike politics?
  • Do you dislike people who are always late?

You attitude: manner, disposition, feeling, position, etc., with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, esp. of the mind: a negative attitude; group attitudes.
  • Are you easily frustrated?
  • Can you remain positive no matter the situation?
Your clothing
  • Do you only wear designer clothing?
  • Do you shop for bargains?

Your way of thinking: inclination, tendency; belief
  • Do you think outside the box?
  • Do you only think cheerful thoughts?

Your purpose of life: connecting with your inner soul
  • Do you know your inner self?
  • Do you know your purpose on earth?

Did you know, just by your interactions with people you show who you are every day? Well, if you didn’t know, you know now! (smile).

To help you show, who you are, I’ve created the first six of A-Z ‘Who Am I’ tees for you to go ahead and show people who you are.  These tees will not only show the world who you are, but they can also help you bring to fruition the person you know you are.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

 What is breast cancer?

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that starts from cells of the breast. A malignant tumor is a group of cancer cells that may grow into (invade) surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize) to distant areas of the body. The disease occurs almost entirely in women, but men can get it, too.1

For 25 years, we have been celebrating the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. This month as a union, we unite to celebrate everyone that has been affected directly or indirectly by Breast Cancer. Whether you are a cancer survivor, a loved one, a friend, a person who currently has cancer, a person who has loss their life to cancer, a medical researcher, or a cause who helps cancer patients, Breast Cancer impacts all of us.

According to the American Cancer Society, there are now about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States.2  As a survivor, the fight to remain cancer free continues long after defeating this unwanted disease. This is why it is imperative to continue to do a self breast exam as well as following up with your doctor.

At age 19, I received my first mammogram. Additionally, at 19, I had a benign tumor removed from my right breast. I am thankful that it was benign. However, I continue to do self breast exams and follow-up with my doctor. In the past two years, now that I have tumors in both my breasts, I received 3 mammograms. My doctor says they all appear to be benign, but she wants to monitor them on an ongoing basis. I am grateful and hopeful that all will continue to remain on a good note. However, if needed, I will fight this unwanted disease as do many other people.

Even though we continue to look for a cure for this unwanted disease, we continue to promote awareness; we celebrate the many lives that we have lost and the lives that are affected. For Breast Cancer month, I have created some short and long sleeve tee shirts that help promote Breast Cancer.
