Living Healthy!

Whether you don’t like the number that you see on the scale or you just want to live a healthy lifestyle, weight control can be a challenge. However, you can conquer this challenge. Well, at least, you can do things to manage this challenge. Our weight tends to fluctuate from time to time. However, if we have a better understanding of our bodies, we can use the knowledge to conquer/manage our weight. There are many diets, infomercials, etc that can overwhelm our minds. Therefore, once you have a plan whether it is from a diet, infomercial, doctor etc, you should give it a try. I am neither a doctor nor an expert on weight control. But, I’ve tried a few things to manage my weight and let me tell you, once your mind is set, you can do it.

I’ve tried Dr. Ian Smith’s diets and I know that I am not the first and won’t be the last to tell you that his diets surely work! I did both of his programs (The Fat Smash Diet and The Extreme Fat Smash Diet) and the results were better than I expected. I also incorporated Dr. Ian Smith’s diet with some of my own ideas and I was able to control my weight.

For example, for 4 days, I did not have any carbohydrates and I lost 6.5 pounds. I was shocked, as I did not know what to expect. However, as my responsibilities grew with taking care of my Granny while working full time and caring for my own family, maintaining a healthy lifestyle diminished.

I can still say that I never look away when I get on the scale; I just know that the weight is back and my goal is to get back to eating healthy, exercising, and work on keeping the momentum of living a healthy lifestyle.

During the 4 days of no carborhydrates, this is what I ate:

Breakfast:
2-egg omelet with cheese and onions with 2 or 3 turkey bacon strips

Lunch:
Tuna fish on a bed of lettuces
Salmon cakes with carrots and broccoli
Baked chicken with whole string beans and broccoli
             Tossed chicken salad

Snack:
             Boiled egg
Vegetable pizza without the crust - yup, I just eat the topping

Dinner:
2 Salmon cake patties with carrots and broccoli
Baked chicken with broccoli and whole strings beans
            Tossed chicken salad
            Shrimp and broccoli

Drinks:
3 cups of hot green tea for all 4 days
            My daily water intake
A glass of Moscato (wine) for all 4 days

During the 4 days of no carbs, I did not get on the treadmill, but instead of taken the elevator at work; I took the stairs. I must say small things that we incorporate in our daily routine, surely adds up!
I am not telling you to stop doing what you are doing or not get professional consultation; all I am saying is it is possible to live a healthy lifestyle

I am on the road of a healthier lifestyle. Whatever makes me happy, I don’t have a problem in giving it a try!
