 What is breast cancer?

Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that starts from cells of the breast. A malignant tumor is a group of cancer cells that may grow into (invade) surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize) to distant areas of the body. The disease occurs almost entirely in women, but men can get it, too.1

For 25 years, we have been celebrating the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. This month as a union, we unite to celebrate everyone that has been affected directly or indirectly by Breast Cancer. Whether you are a cancer survivor, a loved one, a friend, a person who currently has cancer, a person who has loss their life to cancer, a medical researcher, or a cause who helps cancer patients, Breast Cancer impacts all of us.

According to the American Cancer Society, there are now about 2.5 million breast cancer survivors living in the United States.2  As a survivor, the fight to remain cancer free continues long after defeating this unwanted disease. This is why it is imperative to continue to do a self breast exam as well as following up with your doctor.

At age 19, I received my first mammogram. Additionally, at 19, I had a benign tumor removed from my right breast. I am thankful that it was benign. However, I continue to do self breast exams and follow-up with my doctor. In the past two years, now that I have tumors in both my breasts, I received 3 mammograms. My doctor says they all appear to be benign, but she wants to monitor them on an ongoing basis. I am grateful and hopeful that all will continue to remain on a good note. However, if needed, I will fight this unwanted disease as do many other people.

Even though we continue to look for a cure for this unwanted disease, we continue to promote awareness; we celebrate the many lives that we have lost and the lives that are affected. For Breast Cancer month, I have created some short and long sleeve tee shirts that help promote Breast Cancer.

Very good work that you are doing with this...I didn't realized your t-shirt store was so extensive! Very impressive. I forwarded on via Twitter so I hope you are able to get a few more readers and investors. If you can accept donations in lieu of a t-shirt purchase, post that link here.
